Dear Pastors, church, and friends,
We are so glad that winter is finally behind us. We made it through the cold winds, snow, and the ice storm. We did burn a lot of wood and had to purchase several more loads. We are just thankful that the young man had some ready and even stacked it in the wood shed for us. What a BLESSING! We are now ready to enjoy some much warmer weather, sunshine, and watch everything come back to life and start blooming.
I had my second knee replacement at the end of December. Everything went well and I am now finished with physical therapy and able to return to my normal schedule. Thank you for the calls, cards, and texts during this time. Such a wonderful blessing to have good friends praying for you and checking in.
We have 9 more weeks of school left. The kids have done an amazing job this year. We are finishing with 8 girls and 1 boy. They built the Tabernacle out of Lego’s in Bible class and are learning each part as they take a journey and walk through the Tabernacle.
Please pray for these kids. Most do not attend church, some have been picked on and bullied in school, they are behind in their work but continue to pass each year which results in them struggling with their work. We try to get them reading, fill in the learning gaps, and back on track by the end of the year. Pray for their families to get in church and for their salvation. We want to see a smile on their face and confidence in their hearts and that they matter and can do their work. We know that with the Lord’s help this is possible!
We are ready to get back in the garden and greenhouse. The Lord blessed us with a very bountiful harvest last year. We were able to can, dehydrate, and freeze around 437 jars of fresh goodness from the garden. That helps cut the grocery bill to almost nothing. Bro. King always loved working in the garden and teaching the boys to be self-sustainable, teaching them a trade, and to work with their own hands. I often wonder how many of them remember their time spent here at the Ranch and still use what they learned. But most of all if they still have Jesus in their lives. What a burden he had for the boys and this ministry. We sure do miss him! I am thankful every day that the Lord is allowing us to continue the work here, be a help to others, and show these kids love and point them to Jesus.
We have a few projects that need to be taken care of this summer and are trying our best to have them taken care of before winter hits us again next year. Thank you so much for those who helped us this past fall with updates and much needed maintenance. What a blessing you are to these "two old ladies" on the mountain!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
I don’t know what the future holds, but my GOD does!! Thank you for your continued support, prayers and being a part of this ministry helping others. Come see us, sit on the porch and enjoy the mountain.
Because of Jesus,
Mrs. King
