Dear Pastor and Church,

From autumn in Australia to spring in America, we send our Christian greetings to each of you, our dear, faithful supporters. This Down-Under gospel update covers our missionary activities among the Jews and Gentiles during March and April.

After repeated follow-ups, I was finally able to catch Ron at home, an elderly Jewish man who was among the first to receive a red-letter, prophecy edition of Matthew’s Gospel. We had originally chatted in his front yard while he watered his grass. Upon my return, he told me that he neither remembered me nor the gospel booklet I gave him. Par for the course, I guess. He did confirm that he was still looking for Messiah to come. This prompted me to tell him of the two pictures of Messiah presented in the Prophets’ Writings: A Suffering Messiah and a Conquering Messiah. I briefly explained how these two personages were the same person and that Yeshua [aka Jesus] alone fulfills both these Messianic pictures by way of His two advents. Ron said that his eyesight is not good enough to read anymore. Pray that the Lord will open his spiritual eyes to understand Jesus’ saving role on behalf of Israel.

Just in Melbourne alone, since January, dozens of anti-Jewish offenses have occurred across several suburbs. While door-knocking in the Jewish community, to find them (Isaiah 40:1-2) amidst the antisemitic pall that they live under, I spoke with several souls. One elderly man named David walked out to his front gate, and, seeing our gospel literature, said that he regularly watches CBN News and understands things concerning the soon-coming antichrist and Messiah. He used a negative expression to denote Jewish people who barely believe in a soon-coming Messiah. Being grateful for our prayers for Israel, he shook my hand before going back inside. On the very same day, I spoke with an elderly man who believed in Messiah’s coming but not soon coming. Upon hearing my opening glance of the greeting, similar responses come back such as “Thanks very much,” “That’s nice to hear,” “We are very grateful,” “That’s really sweet,” “That’s very lovely,” or “Blessings on you.” I am not always able to get the people’s names, but do pray for David, Ben, Roy, Gabe, Richard, Kamille, Zanelle, Rachel, Eli, and Marilyn. Sometimes people only answer their doorbell intercom, and so the conversations are very short. After completing my Christian greeting (see our November letter), one such lady responded saying, “Aww, that’s really sweet, I thought I was about to be preached to.” Indeed, Jewish evangelism necessitates befriending the Jewish people. Even so, the gospel literature that we leave in-hand with them will always “preach.” Such is the case with the “7 Reasons” foldout tract we are currently presenting to them.

80-year-old Kevin, a Catholic at heart, prayed to trust Christ after we spoke at his door for nearly two hours. The subject was grace vs. works. Being friendly, we spoke about other ordinary human interests, but this man was truly interested in grace. He believed in it but needed much clarification. When he told me that he would place the gospel tract beside his computer and pray it every day, I sought to clarify his misconception. Paul’s doctrine of “adoption” makes it clear that it is a one-time event that is permanent and irreversible.

During the past two months, 1,700 copies of the 7 Reasons Why Christians Should Pray for Israel tract were distributed among Jews, and 2,925 John 3:16 gospel tracts were given out to Gentiles.

Jamie and I extend to each of you a very humble and grateful “thank you” for making this Down-Under gospel ministry a full-time possibility.

Proclaiming the good news of the gospel to those having ears to hear,
